If I could go back in time and tell my younger self something, it would be this:
“Dear Younger Adine
You are right with the aspirations you want. Don’t give up on your goals and dreams for anyone. Because God placed those very same dreams in your heart and it will only be realised many, many years from now. So don’t settle for anything other than what you were born to do. This will avoid so much time wasted on people and things that will be used to crush you. Remember how beautiful you are on the inside and on the outside. Don’t doubt yourself. You are a fighter and stronger than you know. Some people will make you believe that your gentleness is a weakness but it is not, it is one of your greatest strengths. Because they will sense something inside you that is destined for greatness and they will try to push you down. Push through! Be careful who you trust, not everyone will come into your life with pure intentions. Your gut feeling is very important, always listen to it. Keep God close to you, no matter what. That gut feeling is the Holy Spirit warning you and guiding you. Don’t dismiss it. Live for God, for you, for who’s right and for what’s right. You will see the light much sooner. Never give up on writing and your dream of becoming a poet/ writer. I love you!
