Shalom beloveds
What makes you lovely?
The things that make you lovely are what you speak of, the things you give access into your life, your character and the things that you glorify. We are quick to gather up riches and idols to make us lovely from a worldly perspective. But we don’t realise that we will not be taking those things with us to eternity- whether Heaven or hell. We collect treasures and fill up our hearts with pleasures that won’t matter in Yahweh’s Kingdom.
Speech plays a big part in Yahweh’s calling for your life. You see, what you speak of and declare over your life matters to YHWH. What you reject over your life matters to YHWH. What you allow into your life matters to YHWH. Yeshua said “He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.” (John 7:18 NKJV). We are to use our words and our thoughts to glorify Yeshua and the One who sent Him. Because He is lovely, He is the Truth, He is the Light of the world. Oh, how lovely is the name of Yeshua and how much more lovelier is His character. We need to tap into more of His character. We are the light of the world, a city upon a hill, shining Yeshua through us.
I used to accept the affirmations of others so much so that it was the air that I breathed. I would be gutted if someone spoke badly of me and dragged my name through the mud, because I didn’t want people to think I was a bad person, or treat me badly. I would hide from conflict because I didn’t want to argue or cause any negative atmospheres to arise. I grew up idolising the good things people spoke of me. I would yearn to hear my parents say to me “I’m proud of you” and “You are a good daughter.” I would feel worthy when a boyfriend would say to me “You’re beautiful”. I would feel on top of the world when my friends spoke kindly of me. I chased these words down like a wolf chasing down its prey. I didn’t feel loved if nobody told me. I didn’t feel worthy if nobody told me. This was the type of affirmation I lived for. But the more I allowed the words of Yeshua to flood my mind, heart, spirit and speech; I became affirmed by His words and by His thoughts of me, through the confirmation of His Word (the bread of life). One of my top love languages used to be “words of affirmations”, so it was no surprise that words played such a big role in my life.
I soon learned that the more I speak of Yeshua and allow Him to speak to me, the more I dethrone what others speak or think of me because my focus was shifted towards His goodness. The more I delight myself in His words, the more I overcome mountains of oppression over me through words. The more I speak to YHWH the more He can speak to me, affirm me and pour His love over me through His words. This makes me feel lovely, this makes me look lovely, and this makes me achieve loveliness in Him and only Him. I am who YHWH says I am. This is a reality I needed to face and do so daily. The Bible says “So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.” (Philippians 4:8 TPT), and in focusing your mind on what is lovely, true, pure, honourable, etc, your speech becomes what you consume your mind with. Let His goodness overflow in your mind and it will spill out of your speech and eventually out of your character and actions. Another way to focus your mind on Him is to study the Word of YHWH. When you read it and meditate on it, it eventually becomes a way of life. The Bible says “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV).
As we go about our daily routines, let our hearts and minds simmer in YHWH’s Word and let those words become etched in our minds, hearts, spirit and speech, so that it eventually becomes a part of who we are. So ponder about the following: Whose character are you attaining or accessing? Who is sitting on the throne of your heart? Are you speaking LIFE? Which version of Yeshua are you shining? Let it be Abba, Yeshua and the Ruach HaKodesh who dwells within you all the days of your life.
